This Rover 216 Cabriolet was a demonstrator with Bristol street Rover in Poole when new in 1996, it was then sold to a Mr Sanson on 22/10/1997 for the sum of £12,999 plus £145 Road fund license (We have the original bill of sale in the large file of paper work along with the old MOT's and logbook etc). The car was in the ownership or Mr Sanson until 21/08/22 when it was passed on to a long standing customer of ours, who purchased it for his wife. Sadly his wife died a short time after acquiring the car, and has stayed in his garage ever since. We have been asked to advertise the car on his behalf and now have it in our showroom. The car presents as close to a new car as is possible, it appears to have it's original paint work across the whole car, it still wears it's original dealer number plates, and comes with it's original 2 sets of keys and blippers both wearing the original dealer key fobs. The original book pack is with car along with it's service book with it's first 2 service stamps from Bristol street Rover, the original advertising brochure and price list etc. The car has just received a new MOT with no advisories, although the last service was carried out in August 2022 when it received a new cambelt and a full service, therefore we would recommend at least an oil change before regular use. The car starts runs and drives well, but we have noticed 2 small issues:
-The electric hood is slow to operate and requires the odd 'shuv' to help it on it's way both up and down.
- The nearside front brake caliper feels slightly sticky and would benefit from either an overhaul or replace.
Otherwise this Rover 216 is in truly remarkable condition and appears to have been hugged and kissed from day one. Please phone to arrange a viewing.
